The ANU Undergraduate Research Journal presents outstanding essays taken from ANU undergraduate essay submissions. The breadth and depth of the articles chosen for publication by the editorial team and reviewed by leading ANU academics demonstrates the quality and research potential of the undergraduate talent being nurtured at ANU across a diverse range of fields.

BlueBoard is an online community for people concerned about mental health problems including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, eating disorders, borderline personality and related disorders. There are forums for people working on their own recovery and for friends and family members. The aim of BlueBoard is to enable people to reach out and both offer and receive help. BlueBoard is free, anonymous and available at any time from around the world. The delivery of BlueBoard is supported by funding from the Australian Department of Health.

The Coombs Building at The Australian National University is a Canberra icon. Named after one of Australia’s greatest administrators and public intellectuals—‘Nugget’ Herbert Cole Coombs—for more than forty years the building has housed two of the University’s four foundational Schools: the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies and the Research School of Social Sciences. This volume of recollections is about the former. It looks at life in the building through the prism of personal experience and happenstance.

Since the R.G. Menzies Scholarships to Harvard were established in 1967, sixty-three Australian Menzies Scholars have been sent to study at Harvard. This book derives from the Menzies Scholars themselves: it is a collection of reminiscences and stories about their experiences at Harvard and the influence that the Menzies Scholarship has had on their careers and achievements in life.

Even before University House was opened in 1954, a House Wine Committee had been formed, leading to the 1st University House Wine Symposium, held in 1956. These proceedings record the 7th University House Wine Symposium, held in 2011 to commemorate the 40-year anniversary of the first plantings that have led to the internationally acclaimed wines of the Canberra District Wine Region.
