The later chapters indicate sources for modern China and are invaluable for historians seeking information on such subjects as the early Communist Party and the Kuomintang.

Agricultural development in Asia

The authors examine the problem through analyses of the agricultural development performances of nine countries within the region. What emerges is a mixture of agricultural success stories, indifferent performances, and downright failures to develop the agricultural sector.
